Pattern Energy Community Meeting on Big Wind
Pattern Energy Press Release:
In March of this year, Pattern Energy was introduced as the preferred developer for a potential 200 megawatt (MW) wind project on Molokai Properties Ltd. (MPL) lands. Since that time, Pattern Energy has formed Molokai Renewables LLC and is working with Bio-Logical Capital to explore the project. We believe that a wind project on Molokai has the potential to help provide a wide range of benefits to the Molokai community and to generate clean energy for Hawaii.
We are in the early stages of exploring this project. Currently, Molokai Renewables has an agreement with MPL that would allow us to lease the land needed for a wind farm if the project goes forward, and an agreement with Castle and Cooke to use 200 MW of its wind energy allocation for a project on Molokai.
We will also be hosting informal informational sessions during which you can meet our team, ask questions and provide your thoughts on the potential project and associated community benefits. We would like to invite you to attend the following informational sessions or to contact us for more information if you are unable to attend: June 21 at the Maunaloa Community Center, 5:30 – 7 p.m.; June 22 at the Mitchell Pauole Center, 6 – 7:30 p.m.; June 23 at Kilohana School, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Going forward, information regarding the project will be posted in The Molokai Dispatch, on our website (www.patternenergy.com/molokairenewables), and mailed or emailed to anyone who would like to be on our distribution list (Molokai Renewables LLC, P.O. Box 774, Honolulu, Hawaii 96808). We would like to hear your vision and goals for Molokai, your thoughts regarding a potential wind project on the island, and your suggestions on how we could best work with you. Please feel free to contact us at any time: (808) 440-8900 and molokairenewables@patternenergy.com
